Three More Children Have Died in the North American Measles Outbreak
While cases do seem to be slowing down in Texas, they continue to rise in a large outbreak in Mexico, where four people have now died, including three young children.

Three More Children Have Died in the North American Measles Outbreak
An outbreak, that like Texas, has now claimed the lives of young children, including three children from Chihuahua.
“The infants, originally from Namiquipa and Ojinaga, belonged to the Mennonite community and neither was vaccinated against the disease. In the case of the 11-month-old, the mother was also unvaccinated, so she could not transmit immunity to the infant.”

Two unvaccinated children, aged 11 months and 7 years, belonged to the Mennonite community.
“Both had pneumonia, one had leukemia, and the other had kidney disease.”

Tragically, a third child has also died in Sonora.
“The Ministry of Health in Sonora confirmed the first death from measles in the state, which occurred within a population group of migrant agricultural workers from Chihuahua who work in the municipality of Cajeme .”

The one-year old from Chihuahua was also not vaccinated.
The fourth death was an unvaccinated Mennonite adult who had diabetes.
Although anti-vaccine influencers will try to find other reasons for why they died, their deaths reinforce the importance of getting vaccinated and protected and that measles is not a mild disease.
