Why Are So Many Unvaccinated Kids Going to the Emergency Room With Measles?
Aren't unvaccinated kids supposed to be healthy and not get sick?
Anti-vaccine influencers are sending an unintended message with all of their posts about budesonide, vitamin A, and unproven measles treatments.

Just why are all of these unvaccinated kids ending up in the ICU in the first place?
Isn’t measles supposed to be a mild disease?
A mild disease — just a rash — that has killed two kids in Texas and landed another 56 people in the hospital!

Aren’t unvaccinated kids supposed to be healthy, without any medical problems?
“In this case, although she had developed and recovered from measles, the girl had been ill for months with chronic mononucleosis complicated by chronic tonsillitis, and her parents had been arranging for her to have her tonsils removed, a procedure known as a tonsillectomy.”
Breaking News: Another Texas Child Dies a Tragic Death After Recovering from Measles
And yet, every time one of these unvaccinated kids dies, instead of blaming the simple fact that they had measles, they blame co-morbidities and other factors that they should not of had as healthy, unvaccinated kids!
Fortunately, there is a very easy way to prevent all of this!
Two age-appropriate doses of the MMR vaccine.
That is all it takes.
Get vaccinated and protected, and you won’t have to worry about your kids getting sick with measles, if they need more vitamin A, budesonide, clarithromycin, or what’s going to happen if they go to the ER when they finally get measles.

Get vaccinated and protected now, and you can help stop these outbreaks, you won’t put your community at risk, and you won’t have to feel anxious as cases continue to surge over the rest of the year.
It’s a mystery…20% of kids need an ER visit after measles (which as we know is supposedly mild, harmless and beneficial for health), but following vaccination with MMR (three diseases at the same time!) the equivalent incidence rate would be about one for every 3000 shots (0.03%, this is for febrile seizures, which is the only serious reaction with a measurable incidence rate).
Can an antivaxer explain this obvious anomaly to me?
My daughter attempted to get an MMR booster at the local drugstore, and the pharmacist just blew her off. Laughed and said the vaccine was only for little kids. He didn’t even ask if she had ever been vaccinated.
